Director, Climate Risk
Martin is a Director, with Clermont Partners, LLC and is based in Washington DC. In his role, Martin advises client projects involving both climate risk management and sustainable investment frameworks. He plays a strategic role in assisting corporations in integrating climate change into their economic projections and long-term return expectations. Martin’s areas of expertise include conducting climate risk assessments for corporates and financial institutions concerning SEC & TCFD climate-related disclosures. His work focuses on implementing strategic risk management using climate, weather, and financial modeling tools to provide financiers with investment-grade reporting to drive strategic asset allocation.
Before joining Clermont, from January 2009 to 2021, Martin was part of: The International Finance Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank Group leading the structuring of credit lines for tech technology infrastructure and the creation of green financial products. He also has served as a strategic climate finance advisor for several firms and governments worldwide.
Martin has a B.S. in Political Economy from Juniata College and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from the MIT Portugal Program.
