Below is an aggregated list of retail companies that have communicated to external stakeholders in support of racial equality and the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd and many others. Very few companies are putting out public statements via a press release. Instead, overwhelmingly, companies are posting to their social media channels; Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and/or Facebook. These statements are generally strongly worded opinion statements supporting the validity of the cause and the company’s commitment to it, at times, including donations being made within a community in support. However, companies are not making policy statements or generally offering substantive changes or material actions to change the racial dynamics in their own company.
