December 19, 2022

Clermont Partners, part of Riveron, announces it has expanded its fast-growing Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) & Strategic Communications practice with the appointment of Dan Nielsen as a Managing Director.

Dan joins Riveron’s ESG and Strategic Communications practice, formerly known as Clermont Partners’ ESG Advisory group, which was established in 2017. Dan will be primarily responsible for the development and growth of the firm’s ESG offerings.

“Dan brings deep institutional ESG knowledge, building on our practice’s approach to investment-grade ESG reporting. We’re excited to welcome him to the team as the investor stakeholder group continues to play an increasingly important role in our ESG & Strategic Communications practice,“ said Victoria Sivrais, Senior Managing Director at Riveron and Clermont co-founder.

Elizabeth Saunders, Senior Managing Director at Riveron and Clermont co-founder, added, “We are committed to further expanding our ESG offerings to serve the evolving needs of our clients. Dan’s wealth of knowledge on sustainable and responsible investment and ESG integration strategies will help our clients navigate heightened investor expectations.”

Prior to joining Clermont, Dan served as the head of ESG Indexes at Morningstar. He is also currently an adjunct professor at Loyola University of Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business where he teaches ESG Investing. Dan has spent more than 18 years in the investment industry where he has developed deep expertise working with portfolio managers and investors to understand which ESG issues can provide important insights and where to find and interpret ESG information. He has also worked closely with portfolio companies to help them recognize, address, and effectively communicate their ESG work.

“I am thrilled to work alongside Beth and Victoria and the incredible team that they have assembled. I welcome this opportunity to work with companies and help them create value and communicate effectively to investors and others in this fast-evolving environment.”
